Stockmens Livestock is now under new ownership!
After serving the community for 35 and 45 years respectively, Jim Erickson & Larry Schnell have decided to move on to other pursuits. Both will be around to help make this a smooth transition,and if you happen to run into them when you’re out and about,we encourage you to give them a big “Thank You” for all the years of hard work serving the community.
The three of us plan to keep the same great integrity and work ethic in operating this facility as it has been for the many past years. Please stop in to meet us and visit, or feel free to give us a call.

STOCKMEN’S LIVESTOCK NOW UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!
Since the creation of Dickinson Livestock Sales Company in 1937, there have been very few changes in ownership of what is now known as Stockmen’s Livestock Exchange. There are now three new names to add to the list of owners and operators: John Fischer, Austin Henderson, and Dan O’Donnell.
Each of these young men has a wealth of knowledge of the livestock industry, and livestock marketing, as well. They have already worked many of the positions associated with the operation of this facility, and are more than willing to learn more, and add their ideas and talents to better serve you.
James and Renee Erickson, along with Larry and Judi Schnell, want to thank each and every one of you, whether you have been a consignor, a buyer or an employee, for the years that you have trusted us with your business, and in the case of employees, with your time and effort.
James and I will still be around, assisting the new owners in any way we can, in fact James will continue auctioneering and assisting directly in the operation for at least the next couple of years.
It has truly been a blessing to serve you, and we look forward to seeing the next generation put their ideas and abilities to work to make Stockmen’s an even better operation than it is today.

We are Stockmen's Livestock Exchange Inc., your best option for buying and selling quality livestock. We started in 1937 as Schnell's Dickinson Livestock Sales Company, founded by Ray Schnell. Through the years, Schnell's Livestock built their reputation on selling quality livestock at top prices. In 1977, The name was changed to Stockmen's Livestock Exchange Inc.. While the name has changed, the commitment to being your best marketing option has remained. We have top notch facilities and our staff and crew know the business from top to bottom.
Here at Stockmen's we offer a full range of services for buying and selling livestock:
- Regular sales: Our regular sale day is every Thursday here in Dickinson. Selling all types and classes of cattle.
- Stock Cow sales: We are the regions #1 market for bred females.
- Production sales: Selling quality bulls and females from the top purebred breeders in the area.
- Special sales: We can also set up sales for special needs, such as Dispersions, Estate Sales, etc.
- Video and Internet sales: We have years of experience in marketing cattle through video auctions.
